Who's that crazy guy out there?!
Ever sail along the Sir Frances Drake Channel & see
someone in an inflatable dinghy trying to get right
smack in front of you? Chances are that's one of the
Yacht Shots shooters. Don't worry, you won't us. We're
professional yacht photographers.
With a longtime love of sailing & a new discovery of
photography, Guy created Yacht Shots in 1995, getting
the one shot sailors could never get themselves. In
the beginning, he photographed boats entering the North
Sound, Virgin Gorda with film; hand developed it & delivered
prints to boaters personally before they left the next
day. With the overwhelming workload and ever increasing
number of vessels in the British Virgin Islands, he
gladly teamed up with newcomer Brynley Argast in 2000
and taught her everything he knew about driving a boat
while shooting at the same time. It wasn't long after
she was spotted bobbing up & down in the dinghy, half
way out to Anegada.
Over time, personal events led them both off the secluded
island & a new game plan emerged: Photograph boats coming
out of Norman Island & they can see the photos when
they arrive in North Sound.
In December 2006, Gemma Salaman from the
UK joined the Nanny Cay crew and Domenic Mosqueira from
Canada & Mexico took over the North Sound routine.
Weather permitting (with at least 11 kts of wind and
a drop of Sunshine) one can find Yacht Shots snapping
away near Norman & Peter Island and the North Sound,
Virgin Gorda daily from 8:30-11:45am (November- August).
Have at least two sails up and head upwind for the best
chance of being photographed. Or contact us to arrange
an appointment. We're also available for interiors &
brochure photography.
